How to withdraw money from Swipe Machines and Petrol Pumps

As per the official news, all the card swaping machines can now be used for withdrawing cash up to Rs. 2000/- Card swiping machine or also called POS machines are generally used for credit and debit card transactions. This scheme will be valid for any POS machine that is issued from bank and is currently used for debit/credit card transactions. Best part of dispensing cash from swiping machine is "no transaction charge". Government has made it clear that no transaction charge will be applicable in withdrawing money from any of the POS (money swipe) machines till 30th December 2016.


As per the government sources, people can now withdraw cash up to Rs. 2000 using their debit cards from selected petrol pumps across the country. As per the media reports, around 2500 petrol pumps have been identified till now. You will be able to withdraw money from these selected petrol pumps only. As of now no such report is there which has the list of (names of) petrol pumps with area and address that are selected for this service so it might be very hard to track ATMs, Swiping machines and petrol pumps near your area where you can withdraw money. So we request you to comment down any such sources with address details where you have successfully withdrawn the money or have swiped your card. It will help the masses in a big way.


Money withdrawing process is simple and same as existing. Simply swipe the debit card and enter your details (pin, amount of money to be dispensed). Money will be dispensed in Rs. 100 denominations. In case you have old notes and want them to be replaced from sources other than banks then you can use petrol pumps till 24th November. Petrol pumps are open for cash exchange till 24th November only (no extension news is reported yet but there might be some extended timeline depending upon the situation).
